About

How do you present complex research clearly to audiences outside your immediate field?

How can you keep an international, mixed-expertise audience engaged in an online setting — without oversimplifying your work or losing academic precision?

And how do you do all of this confidently, in English, and within limited time?

The online workshop “Online Presentation Workshop: communicating research with impact” is designed for is aimed at mid-career to senior academics from diverse disciplines who regularly present their work to international, mixed-expertise audiences. Whether speaking to colleagues outside of the field, addressing interdisciplinary panels, or contributing to online colloquia, the challenge is always the same: translating complex research into a clear, engaging, and time-efficient story – in English – without oversimplifying or losing academic precision.

Through a combination of practical input, guided exercises, and peer feedback, participants will learn how to structure an effective online presentation, manage time confidently, and design visuals that support – rather than distract from – their message.

Workshop Structure

1. Academic presentations for non-native English speakers

2. Engaging and communicating with non-expert audiences
