Ukrainian and EU Labor Market Convergence Under the European Integration “Umbrella” (UAin2EU): The New Initiative for Overcoming the War-Caused Crises
The project concerns the problems of the labor market in Ukraine, which is currently undergoing critical changes (disintegration, imbalances, migration) shaping new conditions and prospects for Ukraine–EU cooperation in the convergence of national labor markets, effective regulating of migration, reviving business activity through joint investment, creating new jobs, exchange programs for qualified workers. A key prerequisite for such prospects is Ukraine's Europe-oriented future.
Given the two vectors of development of modern Ukraine – the European integration and stabilization after the war, there is a need to combine these vectors in one initiative. The author proposes a new initiative to study and solve emerging problems of Ukraine's integration into EU (UAin2EU) with a focus on Ukraine–EU labor market convergence.
The main goal is to evaluate the depth of the Ukrainian–EU labor market divergence, assess its impact on migration from Ukraine, and develop substantiated policy for labor market convergence in terms of Ukraine's European integration and mitigation of consequences caused by the war.
